CHARACTERISTICS:
"Caviar pepper" are wild-grown berries harvested from the mountains of Tasmania.
Originally from Australia. The fruit is a berry about 5 mm in diameter that once dried is used as a spice. These berries are picked manually. They are dark blue in color and the same size as black pepper. With an intense aroma of wood and a sweet taste at first that quickly transitions to an intense and spicy flavor, a cross between pepper and cayenne, so care must be taken when using it. Great food preservative.
